To celebrate the club success in winning the Hickleton League Challenge Cup and the Hirst Cup, the Thurnscoe Institute CC. held a 18 and concert in the butchers Arms hotel, Thurnscoe on Saturday night.

Mr C Minnikin (Derby), son of the late Mr J Minnikin, the founder of the club, presented the cup to the captain, Mr E Smith, and vouchers (in lieu of sweaters) to the players.
