Thurnscoe Miner Fatally Injured

John Heather (62), of 107, Thornley Crescent, Thurnscoe, a coal-getter employed at Hickleton Main Colliery, received a fractured skull when struck by a prop.

A fall of coal had caused the prop to shoot out. He was taken to Mexborough Montagu Hospital and died shortly after admission.
