Thurnscoe Miner Sent to Prison for Assault

At Doncaster yesterday, Joseph Bennett (59), a Thurnscoe miner, was sent to prison, for one month for having been drunk and disorderly at Thurnscoe on Saturday night, and to six months for having assaulted Police-constable, France, the sentences to run concurrently.

It was alleged that he said he would shoot the policeman when he came out of prison.
