A Thurnscoe Octogenarian

Former Waleswood Mine-Worker

Fitzackley

The funeral took place on Saturday of a well-known resident, Mr. Henry Fitzackley, who died last week at the age of 85, at the residence of his son, 7 Brunswick Street.

He lived in Thurnscoe for the last three years and was remarkably active for his age.  His death followed a very short illness.

He was a widower for the last 14 years and the whole of his working life was spent as a haulage contractor at Waleswood Colliery.

He retired 17 years ago and formerly lived at Beighton, where the interment took place.
