During the week Street and Roads in Thurnscoe have been renamed and new signs erected.

Back Lane is now Houghton Road up to the Cooperative stores and then Station Road to the Lidget Wood.

Other streets are to be renamed and many other improvements made.

The Road on the new housing scheme at Central West is practically completed and will be finished for Easter. The majority of the houses are already occupied.

The whole site when finished, will be a fine example of modern layout, but how long it will keep its spruce appearance one cannot say. The housing estate at Thurnscoe East has already a bedraggled appearance
