The match last Saturday in the senior section of the South Yorkshire League was that between the leaders, Thurnscoe United and runners-up, South Kirkby.

The latter, though playing on their own ground, had to be content with a draw, a result which materially improves Thurnscoe’s chances for the championship.

Thurnscoe United record now reads:

Played 15, won 11, lost 1, drawn 3; 54 goals for, 13 against, 25 points.
