Wedding: Hardy & Jackson

Miss Irene Jackson, second daughter of Mrs. Jackson, 67, Windsor Street, Thurnscoe East, and the late Mr. H. Jackson, well-known in business at Thurnscoe, was married at St. Helen’s, Thurnscoe, on Monday, by the Rev. D. E. Hughes, to Mr. John Hardy, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hardy, Bilham House, Brodsworth, Doncaster, a well-known farming family in the district. Mr. C. H. Hardy is also well known as an exhibitor of Shire horses.
The bride was given away by her uncle and wore white satin and georgette cut on straight lines and carried pink car- nations. She was attended by Misses Vera and Connie Jackson. in picturesque gowns of love-in-the-mist blue silk and organdie, and black crinoline picture hats; and two junior maids, Audrey and Brenda Jackson, in lemon crepe Victorian dresses and wreaths of silver leaves. All carried yellow chrysanthemums. Mr. W. R. Platts (Doncaster) was best man and Mr. Geo. Hardy groomsman. After a reception in the Fairway Hotel, Thurnscoe, the couple left for their honeymoon. touring in Scotland. The bride travelled in brown with fur coat.
