Veteran Once Again at Thurnscoe

In Hickleton’s closing averages, once again, Alban Turner, the 53-year-old all-rounder, heads the batting list.This year, however, he did so only by a narrow margin, beating Jack Routledge the team’s No. 2 bat, by .03.

In additions Turner gained second place in the bowling averages to Joe Riley, who was at the top of his form last season, taking 46 wickets at an average of 9.71 runs each.

Reg. ‘Probert heads the second eleven’s bowling list, and Phil Atkinson heads the batting list, while R. Woodruff, son of a former Hickleton Main player, wins the third eleven batting average, and C. Doncaster the bowling average.
