Miss Edith Barber, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Barber, of Adwick-on-Dearne, was married on Friday at Adwick Parish Church to Mr. Clarence Edward James , youngest son of Mr. and the late Mrs. E. James, “Norwood,” Shepherds Lane, Thurnscoe.
Given away by her father the bride wore a dress of dusky pink crepe, a squirrel fur coat and accessories to tone. Carrying pink roses, she was attended by Miss Marjorie Allen, who was attired in a green dress under a black coat and black accessories. Miss Allen carried yellow chrysanthemums and received from the bridegroom a hand bag and a necklace.
Mr. J. Barwick was best man, and groomsmen were Messrs. T. Snow and W. Johnson.
A reception was held at Adwick School, after which the couple left for Blackpool, the bride travelling in a mist blue angora two-piece with burgundy accessories.
The bride, who is a member of the nursing staff of Conisbrough Isolation Hospital, received cut glass sundae dishes and a china coffee service from her colleague.
