Mr. H. Willis (Wath ) and Miss P. Sanderson (Thurnscoe)

Miss Phoebe Sanderson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. Sanderson, of 47, Deightonby Street, Thurnscoe East, was married by the Rev. A. T. L. Grear at Wath Parish Church on Saturday. to Mr. Harry Willis, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Willis of ” Hilicrest.” Cemetery Road, Wath-on-Dearne. The bride, given away by her father, wore an ice-blue dress with appliqued yoke, and black hat, shoes and gloves to tone, and carried a Prayer Book. She was attended by Miss Lucy Willis in a blue dress with burgundy accessories, and spray of carnations.

The bridegroom’s gift to the bridesmaid was a handbag. The best man was Mr. Geoffrey G. Eldridge and the groomsmen were Messrs. Owen B. Willis and Bert Robinson.

The bride is on the teaching staff of the Roman Terrace School and the bridegroom is in the West Riding Constabulary, stationed at Wakefield. Mr. Grear performed the marriage ceremony. Prior to Joining the R.A.F. as a chaplain, he was formerly headmaster of Wath Grammar School, of which bride and bridegroom are old pupils.
