Wedding – Twigg & Fawcett.

On Easter Monday at St. Helen’s Church, the wedding took place of Thomas Twigg, only son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Twigg, of Dewsbury, and Nancy Fawcett. only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. G. Fawcett. of Thurnscoe, the Rev. G. H. Wheeler officiating.

The bride, who was given away by her father, looked very charming in a dress of ivory satin ankle-length trimmed with ivory silk lace and orange blossom. She wore a head-dress of tulle and silk, surmounted by a coronet of orange blossom. White satin shoes and stockings and a bouquet of madonna lilies and maidenhair fern completed a pretty ensemble.

She was attended by four bridesmaids. Misses Clara Smith and M. Hampson (cousins). Misses Florence and Honore Twigg (sisters of bridegroom). All were dressed in Wedgewood blue crepe suede dresses, ankle-length, with diamante trimming and hats to tone. They carried bouquets of daffodils and maidenhair fern.

The best man was Mr. R. Knight and the groomsman Mr. Eric Fawcett (brother of bride).

Over a hundred guests attended a reception in St. Helen’s Old Schoolroom.
