Sergt. W. L. Briggs (Derby) and Miss C. Wilson (Thurnscoe)
The wedding took place at St. Helen’s Church , Thurnscoe, on Saturday, the Rev. D. E. Hughes officiating, of Miss Connie Wilson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wilson, 46, Low Grange Road, Thurnscoe and Sergt. William L. Briggs, R.A.S.C., only son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Briggs, of Derby.
The bride was given away by her father and wore a gown of white lace over satin with veil and wreath, and carried orchids.
The bridesmaid, Miss Shirley Briggs wore white net with mauve accessories. Her gift from the bridegroom was a necklace.
Mr. J. Bamford was best man and the groomsman was Mr. E. Hangar.
The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a travelling coat and from the bride he received a gold ring. The staff of Scarrotts presented the bride with gloves.
