A Thurnscoe brother and sister, son and daughter of Mr. A. Brown, 40, Butcher Street, are both serving with the Forces.
They are Seaman Gunner Charles Walker Brown (20). Royal Navy, and his sister, Doreen Brown (18).
Charles volunteered the Navy in December, 1941, and has passed out as a gunner. Doreen volunteered for the A.T.S. four months ago and has already passed out on the predictor. She is attached to a heavy A.A. battery and has recently had ten days’ leave. Before enlisting she was employed at Blackpool.
Both enjoy every minute of the life. Doreen’s company were complimented on their smartness and quickness in passing out and were granted extra leave.
