A group photograph sent from Germany by L/Cpl. J. Parkinson, of 12, Briton Square, Thurnscoe. L/Cpl. Parkinson, who FT, Joined the Pioneers and has been a prisoner of war for two and a half years at Stalag 1XC.

He says in his letter to his wife that they are well treated and there is nothing to grumble at. He is looking after the camp post.

Before Joining up he was employed at Hickleton Main Colliery and was a member of the Fairway R.A.0.B. Lodge. He has a wife and seven children.

The eldest daughter, Irene, has been serving In the A.T.S. for the last five months.
