Qualified in Canada.

Mrs. J. Mortimer, of “Lewin,” Shepard Lane, has received word from Canada that her husband, Sergeant. Alf. Mortimer, has passed all his tests as a Sergeant observer.

Sergeant Mortimer, who is 31, joined the R.A.F. in September. 1941, and has been in Canada since March of this year.

He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Mortimer, of Chapel Street, Thurnscoe, and before enlistment he was in business on his own account as catheter property repairer.

His wife is a member of the teaching staff at the Hills modern boys’ school.
