R.A.F. Gunner.

Leading Aircraftman, Ernest Oades, enlisted in the R.A.F. over two years’ ago and likes the life very much.

He is 20, and is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Oades, of High Street Farm, Thurnscoe.

He recently passed out as a gunner. Before joining the Air Force he was employed on the surface at Hickleton Main Colliery, and he was educated at Thurnscoe Junior Council’ School.
