Hickleton Main’s Arrangements.

A well-attended and encouraging meeting was held at Thurnscoe to make definite arrangements for the coming season in connection with the Hickleton Main Cricket Club.

Opportunity was taken to correct an impression that Hickleton would not figure in League cricket next season. The meeting decided to run one team, this to take part in the Mexborough League, fixtures for which had already been made.

Mr. W. Wilde was re-elected president, a lengthy list of vice-presidents was adopted, and A. Senior was appointed captain of the side, E. H. Large vice-captain, J. Smeaton and E. Eaton League delegates, and E. Eaton secretary.

It was reported that all the old players were available with the exception of Alban Turner, the former County player, who is with the forces in Egypt.

The meeting considered the arrangements to be made for preparing the ground for the opening of the season and it was agreed to allow the Thurnscoe Wesleyan Club the use of the ground on alternate Saturdays.
