Hickleton Miner Killed.

On Tuesday evening an inquest was held at Audenshaw on the body of unknown man, aged about 22 years, who fell from a train on Saturday and sustained frightful injuries, from which he subsequently succumbed.

John William Davies, engine-driver, who was in the same carriage as the deceased, said the deceased was much under the influence of drink, and told witness that he was going to Wales to see his parents. He bad travelled from Barnsley. He also said he had worked at the Hickleton Main Colliery, Barnsley.

Verdict “Accidental death” was returned.
