Home Secretary Free Pardon

The Home Secretary has recommended free pardons to Mr. R. L. Gibson, a farmer, of Low Grange Farm, Thurnscoe, near Doncaster, and Mr. A. Hibbert, tractor driver, of Thurnscoe, who at Doncaster on November 29, 1947, were each convicted of an offence against the Road Traffic Act.

Mr. Gibson was fined £1 for permitting Mr. Hibbert to use a tractor the highway when there was not in force a policy of Insurance against third party risks, and Mr. Hibbert was fined £3 for driving the tractor. Both had their driving licences suspended for 12 months.

Mr. Gibson, who pleaded guilty, failed to produce a certificate of insurance, but subsequently found a. valid certificate.
