In Iceland

Driver John Alfred Allsopp (22), eldest son of Mr. Hubert Allsopp. 39, Taylor Street, Thurnscoe, was called up with the first militia batch and for the last 9 months has been in Iceland.

Before joining the forces, Driver Alsopp was employed on the surface at the Hickleton Main Colliery. He was a keen cyclist and was a member of the Goldthorpe Cycling Club.
