Cudworth and Thurnscoe friends will recognise Gunner Stanley Conway (22), son of Mrs. and the late Mr. Geo. Conway, of Lunn Road, Cudworth and formerly of Thurnscoe.

Gunner Conway, whose father died from injuries in the last war, joined up in 1939, went to France and was posted missing. His mother has heard from him, his letter indicating that he is fit and well in a prison camp In Germany.

In civil life he was a hotel porter at Southend.
