Soldier – Londesborough J.W. – Regular Reader

January 1940

Mexborough & Swinton Times – Saturday 13 January 1940

Regular Reader

Driver J. W. Londesborough, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Londesborough, of 32, King Street, Thurnscoe, is with the B.E.F. in France. Jack joined up in 1927, serving six years with the Colours, and six in Reserve.

He had just undertaken another period on Reserve when war was declared, and went across the Channel with the first British contingent.

The family are old and regular readers of this paper, and in due course Jack will see his published photograph and (we hope) read this paragraph.
