Private Albert Roper (17), son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Roper, 22, Garden Street, Thurnscoe, has already spent 8 months in the Army.

For the first three months he served with the Black Watch, but has been with the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry for the last 5 months.

Before joining up he was employed at Hickleton Main Colliery, and at the Brickworks. He likes the life.
