Gunner J. Sims (22), of the Royal Artillery, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Sims. of 98, George Street, Thurnscoe, and was called up in July, 1939.

Before joining the Army he was employed on the surface at Hickleton Colliery.

He assisted Thurnscoe Villa Football Club.

He likes Army life very much.
