It’s “Champion”

After six years as a light infantryman in one of the county regiments, John Williamson, of Thurnscoe, still says life in the Army is “champion.”

Before enlistment he was a keen sportsman, and was a well-known local footballer.

During his overseas service he has been stationed at Gibraltar and in India and Burma, and at the moment he is believed to be in France.

Friends let him have regular copies of the “Times” by means of which he has all along kept in touch with the district.
