Takes Title at her First Attempt

After having to be persuaded by her workmates to enter a beauty contest, Mrs Christine Emerson, of 20, Hickleton Terrace, Thurnscoe, beat 20 other competitors to take the “Miss Molissa” title for 1969.

The competition which is organised by the C.W.S.Mulberry factory at Bolton, was held at the Empress Ballroom, Mexborough on the occasion of the factors annual dinner and dance.

19 years old Christine has worked as a machinist at the factory for over two years, but has never entered a beauty contest before.

She has a two year old daughter, Tracy, and enjoys dancing.

Christie was presented with a weekend case and a bouquet of flowers after the contest
