Broadcast from India

On Sunday morning Driver W. A. Moore R.A., broadcast a message from India.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Allsopp of 45 Church Street, Thurnscoe, and has been in the Army for four years, for the last 3 ½ years in India.  He had seen service in the jungle.

In a letter home before the broadcast, he said he had just recovered from a ten weeks’ bout of malaria.

Before enlistment he was employed on the surface at Hickleton Colliery and was in the Home Guard. In his broadcast he said he was glad to be able to speak to them all and he was keeping fine.  He sent his love to his fiancée, Miss Marjorie Hastings (Harrogate) and to all home and to his friends in Thurnscoe.
